7 Day Update:
All still feels a little swollen although a bit less than the last few days. Bruising has really settled down now and mostly yellow.
Vest is absolutely fine - a bit awkward but nothing unmanageable. The real bugger is sleeping on my back with 2 pillows. I usually have one thin pillow and sleep on my front. It's soo uncomfortable and my sleep has been utter shite if i'm honest. Only a week to go though!
When showering i take off the vest (obviously) and all still seems pretty flat although its swollen more on the right breast than the left. Once the two week mark passes i will start to gently massage although i'm not sure if it's scar tissue or just swelling still.
I took a knock on the chest on the tube and nearly cried but other than that no real pain issues and i now have full mobility over head. Once two week mark passes i am going to hit the gym for a bit of light cardio just to get back into the swing of things - feel so fucking fat at the moment.
Apart from that all is well really. Be back in a week or so.
The sleeping problem takes a while to get used to, even after you stop wearing the vest.
Don't worry about one side being more swollen, I think this is normal in most cases. My left side was slightly bigger, but I'd say they was identical now.
Don't be too quick to rush back into the gym. The recovery period can take a while, and sometimes stressing your body needlessly can postpone this. Instead, try walking, it gets you moving around but not too strenuous. I went back to the gym 6 weeks post op, and benching was absolutely fine. That's the way it should be, you don't wanna pull summat in the vital recovery periods. Don't forget you've got the rest of your life to lose weight and look cut. Focus on getting healthy first.
Don't regret about not doing it earlier on in life mate. The way I see it, if you had it done years ago it probably wouldn't of been as good of job due to technology advances..etc Do you mind me asking how old you are? I'm 32, I've lived with it since 14/15 years old I reckon. Fucking nightmare when you're that age, ridiculed by so called mates on holidays...etc
Yeah in terms of cost, that's the way I'm looking at it, 5k is nothing to have a better quality of life. Looking to do exactly the same thing, interest free credit card balance transfer...
I'm 27, and I've lived with it for at least 15 years. I spent 4 years saving for it, and to be honest, the feeling is nothing compared to money. Money comes and goes, but to be able to
permanently have a
normal looking body is priceless. It can never be taken from you. Get it done mate, and never look back
