4 Day Update
So I'm 4 days in and have just returned to work. The journey on the tube was a bit awkward as i was overly conscious not to let anyone bump into me. Aside from that the pain has pretty much completely subsided (not that there was a huge amount to begin with) and the bruising and swelling have calmed massively.
The vest is the hardest thing to deal with. I find myself forever moving it about to make sure it's in the correct position and 'tight enough' although i suspect this is probably a mental thing more than anything. Everything still seems completely flat and no funny creases or anything like that to report. From what i've read though the fun and games (mentally) really start once you take the vest off after the 4 week mark and everything 'springs' back a bit to a normal level. I just keep telling myself that at the moment it is all artifically flat and that they will pop out a bit once vest is off. I'm also not looking at it too much in the mirror.
I must say i am so glad that i finally did this and my only regret is not doing it earlier in life. It is so fucking liberating it's untrue. I was able to look at my wardrobe over the weekend and for the first time didnt have to worry about how certain tops would look.
I will post another update after the 2 week mark because i guess that's really the next landmark.
Got my review appointment with Mr K in 6 weeks.

4 days and back to work already, that's amazing! That has been one of my concerns as I'm self employed...great to hear it's going well for you mate. Only a few days now and i see Karidis :) Thanks for the updates Mark, it really helps having a support network with this as I'm not telling anyone about it... I've tried before with family when I was much younger and a close mate more recently  but none of them have taken me seriously! that was a fucking kick in the teeth, especially considering my dad blatantly has gyno but I think he's old school and couldn't care less maybe...could be bottled up  though, hard to tell!!! did you tell anyone about the procedure?

I genuinely dont think i would have gone through with it were it not for this forum and people like Sawyer and KSS24 sharing their experiences. Completely invaluable.

I told my wife quite simply because there was no way of hiding it from her. Other than her nobody knows.

With regards to work i would reccommend doing what i did and having the op on a thursday and taking the friday off too. By monday you will be completely fine to go back to work.

Re your old man - we are a different generation mate. I reckon if my old man had it he wouldnt care either or if he did he'd bottle it up - that's how they are!
I just wish i'd done it earlier. £5k is nothing in the grand scheme of life whether you're rich or poor for this kind of thing. I just credit carded it and will deal with it month by month (interest free card).

I honestly cant believe how amazing it feels - i walked out yesterday in a tshirt - first time in years and i didnt once look down or adjust my tshirt or change my posture to hide anything, fucking amazing.

Don't regret about not doing it earlier on in life mate. The way I see it, if you had it done years ago it probably wouldn't of been as good of job due to technology advances..etc Do you mind me asking how old you are? I'm 32,  I've lived with it since 14/15 years old I reckon. Fucking nightmare when you're that age, ridiculed by so called mates on holidays...etc

Yeah in terms of cost, that's the way I'm looking at it, 5k is nothing to have a better quality of life. Looking to do exactly the same thing, interest free credit card balance transfer...

2 weeks full 24/7 then the next two weeks for 12 hours. It says that is MAX so that's what i intend to do.

It takes a bit of getting used to but is worth it as it flattens everything and holds it all in place during the crucial part of the healing phase.

7 Day Update:

All still feels a little swollen although a bit less than the last few days. Bruising has really settled down now and mostly yellow.

Vest is absolutely fine - a bit awkward but nothing unmanageable. The real bugger is sleeping on my back with 2 pillows. I usually have one thin pillow and sleep on my front. It's soo uncomfortable and my sleep has been utter shite if i'm honest. Only a week to go though!

When showering i take off the vest (obviously) and all still seems pretty flat although its swollen more on the right breast than the left. Once the two week mark passes i will start to gently massage although i'm not sure if it's scar tissue or just swelling still.

I took a knock on the chest on the tube and nearly cried but other than that no real pain issues and i now have full mobility over head. Once two week mark passes i am going to hit the gym for a bit of light cardio just to get back into the swing of things - feel so fucking fat at the moment.

Apart from that all is well really. Be back in a week or so.

The sleeping problem takes a while to get used to, even after you stop wearing the vest.
Don't worry about one side being more swollen, I think this is normal in most cases. My left side was slightly bigger, but I'd say they was identical now.
Don't be too quick to rush back into the gym. The recovery period can take a while, and sometimes stressing your body needlessly can postpone this. Instead, try walking, it gets you moving around but not too strenuous. I went back to the gym 6 weeks post op, and benching was absolutely fine. That's the way it should be, you don't wanna pull summat in the vital recovery periods. Don't forget you've got the rest of your life to lose weight and look cut. Focus on getting healthy first.

I'm 27, and I've lived with it for at least 15 years. I spent 4 years saving for it, and to be honest, the feeling is nothing compared to money. Money comes and goes, but to be able to permanently have a normal looking body is priceless. It can never be taken from you. Get it done mate, and never look back ;)

Hi guys,
I've been reading and re-reading this thread for the last couple of hours and just wanted to say thanks really.
I've had moobs for as long as I can remember (I'm 33 now) and I'm finally going to do something about it thanks to reading this thread!
I've just registered for a consultation with Karidis - he seems to be the man for the job and I recall him being popular 3/4 years ago when I used to come on this forum. And I've just applied and been accepted for a credit card to fund the damn thing (I'm hoping it'll be in the same ball park price wise as you guys).
I know you're at different stages of the healing process and results vary in general but hearing you guys talk so positively of the experience has given me the nudge I needed.
Best of luck with your recoveries and thanks again. My computer isn't letting me view your before and afters for some reason but if you'd be so kind as to PM me one MarkHalb I'd really appreciate it!
Cheers!

Hi Moretonkid, really glad to hear that. That was exactly my aim when starting it - to help those in the same way people like Sawyer and KSS24 helped me. Dunno if i'd have had the guts to go through with it without seeing their posts.

I'm now exactly 2 weeks and apart from a bit of scar tissue (which will disappear in the coming weeks/months) i oculdnt be happier - i'm out again today wearing a tight tee and i can guarantee you you couldnt have paid me to do that before hand!

The vest is now going on to 12 hour shifts and i will probably wear it during the day so that i can sleep a bit easier at night.

I am not as flat as i was after the op (very next day) but that is to be expected. I am still 300 times flatter than i was plus there is some scar tissue which will eventually disappear with time/massage. It's a long game.

You will not regret it mate.

Firstly would like to thank you MarkHalb and Sawyer! You've really helped me make that decision towards that final leap! I had the consultation with Karidis last week and I'm lucky enough to have it all booked in for the end of the month. Very excited but also a bit nervous. Karidis is a true professional and it was the best consultation I've had with a surgeon regarding this condition, shows true empathy, he really does make you feel at ease Moretonkid. Good luck with the consultation mate. Ill keep you all posted of how I get on regarding the surgery.

Im delighted to have been of use.

Trust me, you have nothing to worry about - i too was nervous but it's such a breeze (on the day) it's untrue. You'll look back and say - "wow was that it" then you'll look down and the look on your face will be amazing. Genuinely the best feeling.
