Hi guys

Had surgery, or my 'hoovering out' as Jock amusingly puts it ;o), this morning with Dr. Karidis and got back an hour ago. Haven't checked the results yet given the compression vest is very tight  but he said it went well. Mixture of liposuction and gland excision - think he said around 9g of gland was taken out.

I posted some pre-op pictures on the site the other day so you can see what it was like beforehand. Looked much worse when I shaved around the nipple.  Couldn't sleep last night and knackered so I'll try and post more info over the few days.

Will let you know how it things develop!

Congrats jon942. That's the hard bit out of the way - gland and the op.... get it?! ;D ;D ;D

It's the easy bit now - just chill out for the next week. Put your feet up, watch loads of DVD's, eat lots of fruit and veg and drink plenty of water. Pineapple is great for reducing the swelling - I can recommend pineapple, banana and frozen berry smoothies each day - very easy to make.....

Enjoy the results - life won' be the same again (in a very good way!)  8)

Dr K got rid of my gyne Jan 2009. Thank f@ck for that!

Hi guys

Following on from my surgery on Saturday morning... took off my bandages and compression vest for the first time last night and was pleased with the result. Very little bruising which was encouraging and no real pain. From speaking to Dr. Karidis around 9g of gland was taken from each nipple and around 150ml of fat from each side - from what he mentioned the amount of gland removal was quite typical but less fat removal which figured as there was less fat on my chest.

Was quite a relief to get the padding and extra bandages off - felt like I was walking around with body armour on! It also frees up your movement quite a bit.

As it was only a brief shower change before putting a fresh set of plasters on I'll hopefully put some pictures up in the next few days but here are some pre-op shots I took. My problem was mainly gland tissue and looked far worse when I didn't have my chest hair there to help hide it.

As you're all no doubt familiar, it's now a case of wearing the compression vest for around 2 weeks and then nightly for around 1-2 weeks.

Thanks again all for your posts - don't think I would have gone ahead with it without the support and info on the site.

Cheers

Jon

Nice one. Yeah I'm the same - without this site I would have been completely lost.

Surgery completed. Mission accomplished!
