Will the areolas get smaller?

I was wondering if the areolas get smaller after surgery?  Is that something you have to request or does the good doctor take care of that on his own?  I wouldn't mind if mine were to decrease in size.

Good question i would also like to know. I think they get smaller becuase the tissue is puffing it out.

after 2 weeks mine have shrunk considerably.  However, they are a little more eliptical/oval in appearance and one has an occasional wrinkle.  I think the wrinkle will resolve itself but I think the non-circular shape is here to stay.
