Looking good.

I am wondering if the vest is giving you a reaction (material?) or maybe the laundry detergent

I was kinda planning on wife beaters as well- to keep the vest clearn. I suppose I could wear the second stage compression shirts I bought as well while washing.

P.S.

....like the refrigerated beer keg tap in the background! Which reminds me I don't know what the rules are on drinking after surgery while healing. I suspect i may want a cold one or two.

Thanks! I really don't know, not sure why it took a week to start making me itch/breakout? I just got outta the shower, put some cortisone cream on the blotches and put a wife beater on under the vest. Feels better, we'll see how it works out.

lol! My Pops brews his own beer so I have home brew on tap year 'round. This is a major reason you see those ginormous love handles lol. I have always stored my fat in chest/love handles. As you see from the side profile I don't have some huge protruding gut, so when I drop the weight my handles/chest will look a lot better.

Well, my 'instructions' were no alcohol 2 weeks prior to surgery. That seemed bogus to me considering alcohol metabolizes in/out of your body in a couple days, max. I even saw Dr. Jacobs recommend that you stop drinking a COUPLE days in advanced, and no real heavy drinking maybe 4-5 days prior. I'd definitely take the no aspirin 2 weeks thing to heart as I don't know exactly how long it thins your blood. I went out for the Father in laws 50th bday party about a week and a half prior to surgery and went balls out, then had a few beers after that point. My last beer was on a Sunday and surgery was Thursday.

Just had my pre-op consultation with Dr. Lo and he said that having a beer or glass wine up until the day before surgery would be fine.  (For the exact reason that Mister Crossfit said)

Going under the knife on Thursday.  Nervous but excited!

Thanks, man!   I just paid for it - in pieces on credit cards - but it's still paid for nonetheless! (I'm in the process of refinancing my house, so once that is all done, I can consolidate. (Signing is actually tonite)   Probably not the most prudent way to way for something cosmetic, but I really don't want to let another summer pass me by.  And as the summer creeps closer, I fear that I'd end up putting the surgery off until after the summer or who knows when - if that makes any sense.

Any update on your healing?  How is everything coming along?

Sweet!

To be honest man, I am a little sad. I REALLY wish I knew he wasn't gonna do lipo. The WHOLE reason I went to him was for the lipo. There is definitely a small indentation on the lower part of my nipple (which from what I read is due to poor contouring, ie not lipoing with the gland removal). I do realize I have fat that I need to dump, so I am just praying as the fat goes it all comes together better. Just a little depressing after waiting 20+ years for the surgery, it has come n gone and it's not all that satisfying. I know some things will change but I can FEEL the big knots of fat or gland that were there pre-op that were, IMO the worst part of everything.

We'll see, but be thankful you KNOW you are getting lipo+excision. You'll be golden man!

Interesting.    That's definitely annoying.  It's easy to SAY that we have 'realistic' expectations, but is that really true?  Hell, what does a 'realistic' expectation even mean?  Is hoping for a nicely shaped chest that forms your pectoral muscle gracefully and naturally an 'unrealistic' expectation?  I'd like to think that this is realistic and attainable!

I'm a worry-wart by nature, so I'm certain that I'll be focusing solely on the imperfections and irregularites, as well.  However, from an outside perspective, you're only 3 weeks out, right?  When you lose weight, I'm sure that your chest will even out. And then in the winter, when you go back into hibernation drinking your Pop's beer, I'm sure that the new fat will be evenly distributed.

The whole reason you went to him was for lipo?  But wouldn't that have left the gland in there, with the accompanying puffy/soft nipples and with a generally flabby chest?  I almost feel that my actual chest looks better when I'm carrying some extra weight, as it makes the gland look less pronounced - but needless to say, the rest of my body then looks flabby and gross.  I think that having the gland removed was definitely the way to go, man.

When is your next visit with him? Does he do revision surgery?  Not a sexy option, but if you came this far and aren't happy with the result, why not look into it?

How is the scarring looking?

Haha I hear ya. My wife says I am being hard on myself, plus she realized I have some pudge I need to expend. -- No I went for lipo+excision, and he only did excision. He said that lipo was just for contouring and he rarely ever needs to do it as the contour looks good when he cuts away gland and removes some fat via excision. I may the rare case that he should have done both, HOPEFULLY he will/would honor a revision, but not sure how all that works.

My next appointment is next Thurs, the 29th. The two parts that bother me the most are 1) The knotty fat that is just above the nipple, on the outter portion. It was REALLY bad pre-op, but I def feel it there now and it kinda pushes the 'nothern' half of my nip out a bit. I think if he woulda sucked that out, it would fix prob 2) which is the slight indentation JUST south of my nipple. he said the stitches/tape were sucking my skin in. Which may be true as the sterile strip tape hasn't even come off yet. However, I have a hard time believing the tape is doing that much. -- It doesn't look like some massive crater deformity like i've seen, but its noticeable to me and I think could be fixed with lipo of the upper chest to smooth everything out. The only way it looks kinda like a crater is when i lift my arms up in the air. You can see the round portion where the gland was removed, as i lower my arms that 'knotty' shit I have been talking about lowers down and seems to be on the 'north' side of my nipple (which leads me to believe its fat, which i hope it is). He told me that it should have a slight indentation when arms are raised, otherwise it would signify there is access gland in there. Again, it probably doesn't help that I have fat surrounding the nipple which exaggerates the 'dimple'.

Also,I haven't even seen the scars yet so I can't comment on that. He told me to leave the strips on till they 'fall' off. Thurs is 2 weeks, so if they aren't off by then I'll just pull em off. Don't see the need to have em on there for a month lol

For now i'll start with fat loss and see where it goes. Just stressfull.

I am not trying to sound all emo lol.>reading my post it sounds like I am on the verge of cutting my wrist lmao. I am a bit moody bc the dieting and just having one of those days. On a positive note, even if I didn't lose a POUND, I look 10million times better in a t-shirt and would never be shy about wearing anything, all my issues are strictly when i'd be shirtless.

I saw your picks. Overall I still think the results are better, noticeably better, then before. Your before was not really bad to me and I would have been happy with your "before" chest. However, the nipple crease has me perplexed, but I am not a doctor so I don't know. It is sill early for your healing.

Haha thanks. Yea, I've been doing alot of reading and some say the creases go, others don't. Either way takes a lot of time which sucks.

They do look a little better (minus the creases), but not sure it was worth $5000. I honestly think lipo on the top portion of my chest would have helped out alot. Those pics don't do my indention any justice either, if I look sideways and flex my pecs it looks absolutely retarded. I know losing bodyfat will help, essentially i'll do my own 'lipoing', just hope everything comes out good.

I kind of have the opposite concern with my doc. He started talking lipo from the first words. I looked at him and said - "ya I know I got extra fat on me (I am a middle aged tall big guy) and thats great with the lipo, but what about the breast tissue removal?" The doctor then talked about using a cutting cannula "as needed". I said to him don't make the assumption that this is all fat, because I know it is not.

Based on your experience I am going to restate my concern (tissue removal) forcefully again when he starts drawing on me next Tuesday morning.  Also I think my doctor agreed somewhere to revision surgery if needed, I would only need to pay anesthesiologist. Will check paper work.

you go in next Thursday for your check up right?

Yea, hammer it home man. It seems there are only a hand full of surgeons out there that REALLY take their time and listen. I felt rushed throughout all my pre-op visits, and more the I read, most people do. These guys get into such a routine that I think they lose (or maybe never had) their personal skills. I feel like we just become another body on the op table for them to get their $$$.

IF my doc cared, he'd do what you said yours would do and offer a revision down the road with a fee for the anesthesiologist and what-not.

I'd almost put it in writing that you want the gland trimmed down to match the contour of the rest of your chest. Who knows how honorable some of these guys are..

Yea, next ck up is 3-29

I finally had a chance at a computer to see your after pics crossfit, looking great man!  Your doc did a sweet job from the looks of things.  Your a pretty fit guy, so the chest should contour nicely as you get back into the swing of things.  Cheers!  ;D

I just wanted to add another comment crossfit that hopefully may help you.  I just read your other post in the "ask a doctor" section about feeling like you've been butchered.  I can see by your pics why you would feel this way.  BUT, I think you may be surprised at how much your nipples will fill out as scar tissue starts to develop.  It took about 6 weeks for me to feel it starting to come on under the nipple area.  I think that when this begins for you, it may be just what you need to kind of "fill in" the creased areas.  Kinda like a balloon so to speak LOL (but not big of course).  I definitely think that it will take away those creases though.  Hang in there.  From what I've read from others, and experienced myself, it seems to get a bit worse before it gets better.  I hope this holds true for you too!
