Yeah I was the same last year. dropped a load of weight and nothing would shift the moobs!

I'm back into my regular workouts and dumbbells now which is great. I'm almost 7 weeks post op. I'll update my thread with some new pics soon.

All the best with your recovery :)

Thanks mate, you too. Good to hear you're back into training.

10 Months Post Op

Just a quick update with some pics.

Doesnt seem to have been much progress since couple of months ago when I last posted an update. Still massaging most days, not sure to what effect. Still feel somewhat perky from side angles:

And the concerning angles:

I've emailed these pics to Mr Levick, will see what he says. Will most likely book next appointment at 12month mark.

Sorry mate, I don't think they look perky at all. You clearly work out and look after yourself and have some great definition there. You have a chest that looks great. IMHO. I appreciate you may think differently but take this as a positive peer review.

I agree; I think your chest looks really good - especially when you take into consideration the proportions of your chest. You're obviously a muscular guy and have a lot of muscle in the pectoral region. I am quite a muscular build myself, and if I ended up with a similar result, I'd be more than satisfied :)

Thanks for the comments guys.

Just received a very quick reply from Mr Levick who seems to agree that there is still some way to go and that he feels there is a lot of 'soft' scar tissue left in my chest.

In a strange way, its reassuring to know that this isnt the 'end result' as I wouldnt be happy with that (despite the compliments above and thank you guys).

Will book an appointment in June, which will be the one year mark and see how things go from there.

Thanks for the comments guys.

Just received a very quick reply from Mr Levick who seems to agree that there is still some way to go:

"Thank you very much for the update and pics, I think you have lots of soft (good!) scar which has yet to go down, this can take a year or more in some cases, so don't despair because there is plenty of time yet and I'm sorry but there's no way of speeding it up.  The steroid jabs are for hard lumps of scar which sometimes form and I don't think its that."

In a strange way, its reassuring to know that this isnt the 'end result' as I wouldnt be happy with that (despite the compliments above and thank you guys).

Will book an appointment in June, which will be the one year mark and see how things go from there.

I still think you have a decent result but of course I wish you well and hope that you become happy with it too. Mr. Levick seems so affable I'd imagine he will do everything he can to ensure a result is positive.

Thanks man. There's just lot of gunk in my chest still. I don't mind the waiting game. Booked to see Mr Levick in a couple of months at around the one year mark, will see what he advises.

ONE YEAR UPDATE
* All pictures taken by Mr Levick *

So it's been pretty much a year since my surgery and I met Mr Levick for the second time (first time at the 6 month mark), after the initial fluid build up period.

He told me he was retiring which was sad. He said he may see existing patients in his garden shed, as he has 3 big sheds in the garden and one can be converted to a pseudo-clinic. Tbh I have no idea when he is serious, and when is joking.

Anyway he was very pleased with my progress and took my permission to publish the pictures in his upcoming book. He did say, after examination, that there was still a fair amount of scar tissue in both sides. But again he said they did not require steroid injections. He also said my nipples were facing down which is a good sign.

I'm posting pre-op pics for the first time, as I couldnt bare to look at them until now. I had let myself go pre-surgery for the first time in my life. Never again.

Pre-Op pictures (June 2014):

Pictures at One year (June 2015):

Some comparison pictures:

Overall I have to be pleased with the progress. Not just with the surgery, but I've also lost over 3 stones since surgery.

Hoping that the remaining scar tissue clears up over time and also to see Mr Levick one final time before he retires....

I'm amazed at the before and after photo's, you've obviously worked hard and it shows.
Personally I'd be extremely overjoyed to have your upper physique !
I struggle to see anything untoward at all, it looks great.
As wbay21 said, it seems Mr Levick is the type of chap who wants his customers to be happy and if you're going to be in his book then I guess he'll accomplish that for you

Hey man,

Thanks for your comments. Yeah, certainly looking at the before and after there has been drastic improvement.

I just guessed Mr Levick was asking all his patients to be put in his book, if not, I guess I should feel privileged!

He also emailed me today to say he feels I am a great example that there is no 'dent' if all of the gland is taken out. Certainly reading other surgeons' discussions on this forum, many leave some gland/fat in to achieve a good 'contour'. Mr Levick takes everything out and you still look great. It's a relief knowing all of the gland is out and wont regrow in older age.

Top, top guy Mr Levick. If anyone is reading this and wondering whether to go ahead with surgery in the limited time left, go for it...

Wow. What a massive improvement. Why did you not show your before pics at start? IMHO it was a great improvement from day 1...

That's not fat xoxoxo. It's just because he's got large pectoral muscles giving his chest that contour. He's a muscular guy

I think overall you have a good result.  You basically had a moderate to severe case pre-op, with sagging skin and droopy enlarged nipples.
Now you have a normal chest.... is it perfect or a body builders chest probably not, but it is definitely within the range of normal and I don't think anybody would look at you and think "moobs".

The difference is clear to see and I think your side on pics are great, you just look muscular to me nothing otherwise! Well done mate
