Well, you shouldn't need to queue for the all-gender restroom anymore! 😁

I worry that the 30% who are no longer receiving assistance, are now suffering. They are human, after all. How they arrived at the center is irrelevant. How are you getting to Oregon?

As an aside, I have seen it claimed (and I am the first to admit that it might be scurrilous) that more government workers (PEOPLE) have been fired by the Trump administration than illegal immigrants who have been deported!

I removed my original post cuz it might be a little bit too political. However yes, they are human. And how they arrived at the centre is irrelevant.
Even though I struggle to maintain a balance that maintains My independence with my disabilities, I noticed that many individuals seem to only have disabilities when staff are watching. For example there is one individual that propels himself quite nicely in his wheelchair all over the building until a staff member is present, and then he can barely move and requires assistance. Staff already knows that they are being played. Of course that happens in all forms of government handouts and cannot be avoided.

The services are provided to assist those in need, however unfortunately it goes to those that are not and only pretend to be as well.

I'm sure the centre will quickly fill the 30% reduction in participation is they are actively promoting their services at the moment.
Only those covered by insurance will be accepted, those they have lost their insurance will not.

The nuts and bolts of my original post without being too political is that we have seen about a 30% reduction in participation at the medical day Centre. That is a direct result of individuals losing their insurance coverage due to recent government changes namely immigration changes.

I still have mixed feelings over that.

The medical program is actively promoting their services again and providing tours trying to fill the vacancies.

Good morning everyone,

Yesterday was quite nice as I ordered two beautiful bras and purchased another one that they had on the Shelf. I had a great time shopping as always, I got to see all my friends at Torrid. Torrid is very busy at the moment because of people's tax returns. The manager purchased one of my frayed denim wallets as well. I unfortunately was unable to schedule an access bus to go shopping next Saturday as they were not answering the phone.

It is now over one week since my breasts were lactating, so I do believe it stopped finally. They were only leaking for a little over a week. As instructed I just left them alone until they dried up. I was really worried that I would have to start pumping.

Today I'll get some more bags and wallets made, and perhaps I'll get them sold this week.

What is everyone else up to today?

Well, as I write it's late Sunday night here, so the weekend is already done and dusted!

Today was our second granddaughter's first birthday, and our son and DIL hosted a typical afternoon barbecue with about 30 guests attending. It was a terrific time; the guest of honor is so placid and so darn cute! We lingered there with DIL's parents as well once everyone else had left. We get on very well with them and have become good friends over the past few years.

Good morning,  Yes it was a rather uneventful weekend.  I did watch a great movie this weekend.  Its called Conclave.
It's about the process of picking a new pope.  I found it very good!  It has an ending that Was just grand.  Birdie you must see it.  I believe everyone here would enjoy and and find the message and ending very powerful.  So good!

I would love to say more however the ending needs to shock you.

I had to pay for it on Prime, $5.99 or buy for $9.99  I should have bought it.  I did rewind and watch again Many of the scenes.

No offense, but the effects of Catholicism on my family go back centuries. In 1492 my ancestors were forced to leave Spain during the Spanish Inquisition. They left everything behind. On my father's side the Nazis basically exterminated the rest of the family that was not able to escape Europe in time. Hitler was a baptized Catholic as was about 60% of the SS Nazi members. At first they were fully endorsed by Protestant and Catholic clergy, at least until the stories of the horrific atrocities started reaching them. So basically attacks against the Jews and segregation was fully accepted at the time until the stories of the gas Chambers started coming up to light.

Last night a Walmart delivery driver was knocking trying to get in for a delivery. I escorted her through the building a we are instructed not to let people in after hours.

She arrived last year from Venezuela and told me she is saving up money to self deport. It's too expensive here making minimum wage and she has lost her insurance, housing, food stamps, and cash benefits. You make dollars but you also spend dollars, she would rather go home.

I think there are a lot of people self deporting now.

Curious.  Is she realizing that the US system isnt what she thought or is it simply the Trump effect?

Most likely a little bit of both

Please forgive me if you felt I was at all asking you to watch to "convert", or push a religious agenda.  It just speaks to an issue we are all dealing with.  Again I won't say any more or promote again.

I talked to the social worker about visiting family in Nevada come July, and she was a bit concerned saying that I wasn't independent enough to be staying in a motel during my stay in Nevada.
My father's house has stairs going in so the motel was basically our best option. But I did however call my father and explain the concerns of the social worker. Looks like we will be building ramps to get me into the house so I could stay there.

Sounds like we got it sorted.

Update:
They have to have a staff meeting still for approval to fly to Nevada in July even staying at the house. Safety concerns.

I didn't watch the speech last night, but the internet is alive as heck. Democrats are screaming "disgusting, genocide, and fascism." Biden was quoted as saying, "worst president in American history."

Republicans are taking a victory lap.

Not much room for moderates from either side here.
How did we get so divided?
