Had a long talk with my intrusive neighbour this afternoon explaining to him that “setting everyone straight” about my gender wasn’t appreciated in the least.
Also, I am intersex so I don’t fit neatly in either of the two genders.
He didn’t listen in the least saying, “there only exists two genders and everything else is a “leftist lie” just ask the President. He got quite upset saying “hermaphrodites don’t exist” and are make believe. All lies and he won’t put up with freaks like me in Texas. He won’t allow me to pull the wool over neighbours eyes and will expose me every chance he gets.
Like talking to a wall. 🙄
I did not realize that you were a Hermaphrodite.  I read about it while researching Gynecomastia.  I believe it is very rare, so understand the issues you are dealing with.  I hope you do well in Oregon and hope you have a lot of money.  That state is struggling with a large migrant influx and social services are struggling.  OHA is basically broke.

The centre provides compression socks under my insurance. I have been buying compression stockings instead because the socks make my knee swell up and I can’t bend my knee. I tried thigh high but the elastic doesn’t hold up long and they roll down.

I requested a change in my order for the compression stockings\pantyhose I’m buying as it would save me money.

Today’s meeting with staff basically stated that compression “pantyhose” cant be approved because of “gender” issues.

I’m welcome to keep buying them and wearing them but they won’t "enable" me to continue to do so.

The meeting was in private because she said, “this is an embarrassing matter."

Just had a pharmacist discontinue & cancel my low dose estrogen patch prescription because I am a male. It’s for osteoporosis prophylaxis. The dumbass probably thinks it’s for a DIY transition, but the dosages for that would be several orders of magnitude more for that. WA Sate is going off the rails and parking itself on the California siding. Not happy here, selling the house I love & moving to Tennessee.
The new Governor is going bat$h!t crazy raising taxes. The town we live in went from a budget surplus to massive debt in shot order.
I get your frustration, Birdie.
Regards, Bob

It's two separate issues though, isn't it. I genuinely wish you well with your move and I hope you find happiness there, but moving from a blue to a red state will make your 'choice' of medications even harder to procure! May as well be under martial law!

I don't know much about your tax systems over there but I get the feeling that every state is different. Sounds messy.

Texas has a "low cost of living" (red state), but the services provided are skewed accordingly. My doctor here also thought "birth control pills" might be beneficial and combating hot flashes and night sweats and hormone levels, but later decided against it saying, "let's let nature take its course."

I have seen three psychiatrists now about gender dysphoria ordered by my doctor. Just Thursday my appointment went in the direction of a double mastectomy and detransitioning. I explained to the lady that I have had boobs since puberty, along with  wide birthing hips. I was born this way and God doesn't make mistakes. If she were to read my medical records she would find that I'm intersex and I have PMDS. I have a uterus just like she does it's just mine is floating inside of me without being connected to anything other than the fallopian tubes. So just what would I be detransitioning from? She stated that I should strive to fit into society better for my own well being.

Acceptance in this medical program basically means you accept one of the two boxes. Being in between just doesn't work.

Acceptance for me is accepting how I was born and accepting exactly the way I am and living the life I feel fits me best. If that means long hair, cute clothes, and sexy bras, then so be it.

I'm not very well liked in this medical daycare, and they really can't wait for me to move and are assisting me in making it happen.

I'm already expecting my cost of living to go up in Oregon, and that's okay. But at least Oregon will be more accepting.

Evolved, yes every single state is different, even down to county differences.

The red versus blue issue has some minor effect for me but I am well versed in finding what I will require medically as I spent 43 years in practice in ICU & operating rooms, I was the universal widget and could function well on all services. Locally the community has degraded here over the past 25 years.

Tennessee will have a few more advanced teaching hospitals closer to me than here. And Seattle was a very long drive from Wenatchee over 2 high mountain passes that are treacherous in the winter and loaded with metropolitan city drivers in the summer. They are a hazard on the open road. Elk, cougar, & bear & wolves beware.

I speak medicalese so it won’t be a problem to ask some practitioners for their opinion’s & advice on who to contact.

All in all not much luck will be required because I have a Cynthia helping this effort. She is the gem in my life.

Again, modern education.   The influence of certain groups simply wont vanish overnight.

The state by state thing is quite true and NM is in the bottom (like everything else) because of the POLITICAL nature of the system.

I cannot emphasize that enough. The state by state aspect where in NM doctors are REQUIRED BY STATE LAW to carry $600,000-700,000 worth of liability insurance, has driven out most of them. The revolve in and out through traveling doctor's programs set up by the insurance groups. This has also led to a real problem of serving rural communities effectively.  Now, in NM some (not all) of the doctors are a bit more open to the whole DSD situation, but many are not. They still follow old templates. Templates established by people who wanted a straight WASP ideology involved.

THIS is political.

Yes, very political when your medical program keeps pressuring for a double mastectomy and a flat top hair cut to "blend in better" according to my psychiatrist and care plan nurse.

Ouch. Apologies if I inadvertently opened a can of worms.

Birdie, how do doctors actually keep their jobs if their personal beliefs override science?

Wearing my frayed denim shorts over compression stockings with matching denim shoes.
Did my hair up in a scarf because of the wind.
Looking forward to a GOOD day (hopefully).

They shouldn't keep their jobs when personal beliefs interfere with treatments. But this is Texas. "There are only two genders" regardless of what medical records state. Everyone MUST fit neatly into the boxes or it's not acceptable. Treatments are skewed accordingly.

I've never heard or read such a nonsense as from this center. I get two prescriptions per year for medical compression pantyhose as a man without any problems. I always choose the women's model since I don't need a front opening. Nobody cares.

Even the companies sell medical compression pantyhose either as 'unisex' or for males.
A bra is just an article of clothing for people with breasts.

Illinois here. It’s very relaxed here as well. I feel things are taking more of a Newsom turn in terms of some things but the gender stuff is still pretty relaxed here. Sorry to hear where others live the headlines show truth of how bad things have gotten in the agenda of people’s politics instead of being for all people they are for “their” people. It’s a shame.
I’m only 38 but had always been raised if you aren’t hurting others or yourself then treat who is doing the same for themselves and to others with no judgment and open minds.
For all the reasons and purposes men may take feminizing hormones or prescriptions from blood pressure, prostate cancer or conditions, benign tumors in areas, dysphoria, etc. it is just ridiculous to revoke the option to honor a prescription.

For some reasons thigh high compression stockings (if they stay in place) or pantyhose are better than only knee highs. I've got a varicose vein on my knee after one of my several thromboses. A knee high doesn't make much sense, as a stocking always should compress the varicose veins.

I turned in a formal appeal to their decision yesterday. I stated that compression pantyhose are sold by "their supplier" for both "men and women". They have them in stock and they are medically approved.

They will bring it up in the morning meeting again today to make a second decision.
