Klokanic, i will post pictures as soon as i can. I have now found out where the pain is in this surgery nonsense, it's trying to remove the bloody sticky tape they put on you before you leave the clinic. It sticks like sh*te to a blanket  :o

It was a serious trip but after the surgery we felt no need to lay around so yes we did have a laugh. The Polish woman were nice but the German woman were better. Not that i looked with my gf being with me (sssshhh Mark, remember the halle berry look alike in the lounge area, they were massive  ;D)

Unfortunately mate i cant get i until the end of June which is a bummer.  Nevermind.  What it does mean is that im going to have to go with one of my mates.  Can anyone whos been tell me of any decent areas to stop near the clinic?  We will probably go 1 or 2 days before the op to get used to the surroundings and watch some world cup to try and settle any nerves i have!  Also is the berlin airport the closest one to the clinic.  Thanks fellas

Just stop at the hotel Mark and I stopped in the night before the op. Hotel Puerto, it's a 2 min walk from the clinic, a 10min walk over the bridge to Frankfurt in Germany. It's 28euro a night.

I wouldn't go too early as believe me, however nice it is around there in the 2 days after the op you will of been there long enough to take in most of the sights and wanting to just come home.

Berlin is the nearest, well the only one really that the cheap flight companies sleazyjet and ryanair go to. The clinic sort the taxi anyway, Richard will be stood in arrivals with a big board with your name on it.60euro each way.

Quick update on me, i am still very swollen and i mean swollen but it feels like lots of fluid as i've heard others describe it.

I can move my arms above my head easily just do it slower than normal just incase, i can now flex my chest muscles without pain, the nipples are dead to the world like they aren't connected to my body anymore. I get a weird feeling there if i get a cold shiver like they're trying to shrink but they can't or they'll disappear  ;D

This tape is a nightmare, it honestly would still stick if you covered your body in oil. Pulling it off is a game in itself.... will the hair ping off from the tape or out of your chest, the tape is winning by a mile  ;D. May aswell shave your hair off as the tape will strip it off anyway  :o

Ace, another great find with the vests, atleast they have a size chart aswell and cheaper, what a bargain.

The hotel, as you can see from the picture Mark took of it has a massive beer garden so there's 1.

The walk to the bridge to Germany passes lots of little places to drink and eat, then as soon as you cross into Germany good old golden arches are staring at you. Welcome sight to anyone abroad  ;D. Near a huge shopping centre there are loads of restaurants and cafe's that sell beer i remember passing a chinese, indian and a steak house, even a subway sandwich place.

All this within a 10min walk from the bridge. We didn't venture any further as this was all after our surgery so didn't want to stray too far from the clinic.

How do you go about booking the hotel mate? also do you pay an intro fee to book or just pay it all up front once you are there?

When you book in for the op with Andreas, just tell him the date you are arriving he does everything for you, taxi and hotel. You just pay when you are there. When you arrive they want the first nights money obviously incase you do a runner, but i settled up for the other nights(for my gf who stayed at hotel) at the end.

Hi Ian, The questions im after answering are

1.  Which of the airports did you fly into in Berlin?

Im thinking about going say 2 nights before, get there late one night, have a full day to sort myself out then go in the following day.  If i email adreas with this information would he book everything?  even the room for 2 for the required amont of nights?   sorry if you are repeating yourself but i need to make 100% before i go through with it.  You and mark have been a great help.

Yes Andreas will book the rooms needed, just give him all the info and keep at him untill he confirms it all. I booked through him 1 night for both me and my gf and then the nights while i was in the clinic just for my gf. He sorted it all fine.

The airport in Berlin is Schonefeld. But they will get you from any, so Andreas said.

I will PM you my msn mate.
