asmallmeasureofpeace - do you have any pre and post op pics? Just curious as to see some alternative results from poland other than mark's!  ;D

I'm already over 3 weeks post with Levick, and I must say I have significant improvement on what was a severe case of gyne. But it still appears that I have a mild case of gyne when looking at my chest.  I'm just trying to lose weight now to see how that effects my results. Plus I need the swelling and scar tissue to reduce before I can see the full picture.

Hi ASMOP (sounds like something from Dr Who)
Im ok, I healed ok, it will be 3months post op nest week.

My left nipple has a slightly numb feeling to it still (nothing disastrous or life threatning !), rhs nipple is ok, no other lumps or unnatural swellings. Just the healing process do it's thing ...

Hi there, i'll try and answer some of the questions..

1. Looks like easyjet from Liverpool is your best option. Book em early to get them nice and cheap.
2. Small bag is all you need. Take enough clothes for each day after surgery as you will be up and wanting to get out and it will be hot there so nice and light tops.Don't really need alot of anything else apart from something to read or a laptop for a film.
3. I would wear the compression vest they supply to start as it is alot tighter, for the first 2 weeks.
4. I used the post office and got more money changed than i knew i needed just incase, then changed it back when i got home.
5. I used the insurance offered when i booked the flight, it's fine.
6. It's cheaper to stay in the hotel but you need to stay in the clinic after the op so they can keep their eye on you.
7. I personally, felt like i could of gone home the day after the surgery, but 2days is easily enough and you really are just glad to be heading home.

Not heard of anyone else going yet but hopefully there will be.

Hope it all goes well.

Lo all,

Cheers for that Ian am going away soon just finished getting everything sorted with tickets booked
so no going back now ;D .

I got a few more questions,

I was just wondering if after the Op it is possible to only wear the compression garment they give you during the night and the Nike one during the day for the first few weeks.

Also is it possible to actually wear a shirt straight after the Op without the need for any compression vest , as in would you notice a differance immediately or will the swelling still make it seem like you got Gyne.

I guess having pictures of what i look like now would help, im still trying to sort a camera for when i leave as my old one has decided to all but pack up on me  :'( (anyone rec'd me one for under 100 quid) will hopefully get some posted before i go.

cheers

I thought the vest from Poland was quite bulky as well.  Something I tried that worked quite well was to trim the actual shoulder velcro with some scissors and then stitch the two parts together (if that makes sence).

What I thought was that it only had to fit me and it wouldn't matter is I altered it slightly.  Stitching down the should valcro parts stopped them sticking out quite a bit and the vest was hardly noticable.

Just an idea.

HI ALL JON333 I WAITED ABOUT A WEEK FOR A REPLY FOR ESCULAP POLAND .

How did you get in touch with them? Was it over the phone or by e mail? Did they phone or e mail you the dates available? The reason I ask is that I sent an e mail last Thursday requesting dates etc but have had no reply as of yet. :(
Do you think I should phone them?
Thanks in advance.

no offence gruff but what medical qualifications have you got?as i have to disagree with you about the nipple colour turning black will cause a likelihood of its death and and indication of poor bloodsupply.

i am a trained person which is why i was asking.blackening of the flesh can be due to many reasons.what gruff is talking and yourself is talking about is necrosis of the flesh.having dark nipples does not equate to necrosis of the flesh.the other sugn of necrosis is shedding of that flesh.which also if it was necrosis the nipple would have fallen off.from the pics of myself and irish guy we both had bruising/haematoma below the nipple which also leads to darkening of the nipples NOT necrosis.

And I have booked myself in for the op on the 18th July! ;D
He only had that date and the 28th July. I was hoping for some time in August but he told me that the clinic closes for 3 weeks for summer holidays. So I went for the earliest one. Flights booked etc!
I'm bricking it a bit now but it will be worth it!! ;D
Anyone give me any ideas as how not to be so nervous  :o on the day??
Cheers.

I got confirmation today! ;D

There is a phone number and e mail addy for Andreas on the website but here it is:

Everythings fine mate, just that my nipple fell off in the shower earlier, lol only joking  ;D. No everything is fine, swelling down loads today and my chest looks great. Very happy man. Wish it on all men who have th demon gyne. About the darkening and all that. All im doing is relaying back what many surgeons, my doc, health journals and other related things ive read explains. When theres healthy tissue it has a pinkish, brownish (well generally whetever colour you are) look about it. When there is a lack of blood supply it starts to darken, THAT is the first stages, a nipple doesnt fall off over night does it. Then whetever happens from there, well, happens. Be it nipples that fall off to toes needing amputation. You say blackening of skin has many reasons, lack of blood circulation is one.  Ive not even seen Irish guys chest after these photos, mayhap his nipples are dark anyway, hell my nips were bruised after excision which is the norm but perfectly pink and healthy now. People should know the difference between bruised and th fact their nipples are not getting a supply of blood and dying out on um. Im just saying from what ive been told that a sign that there is a problem with blood circulation is the darkening of flesh. Like skin grafts for example, if there's not good circulation or the body rejects it it darkens, rots (necrosis) and finally dies. Its common knowledge nipples may die after such surgery if there is not sufficient blood flow i.e when the doc stitches you back up its not done properly. This is common knowledge. Im no doc or medical man but come on even the big british journal of med will tell you thats what happens. Gruff was saying it looked like not that it actually happened, but looked. Course it was bruised or else irish dude would of surely said and like i said too, my nips were bruised like slapped ar*ses too.

im not saying that necrosis of nipples does not happen.and darkening nipples are signs of this.but not that type of darkening.if you ever see darkening of nipple it shouldnt worry you and thats why i wrote the post to not let people worry as it v v rarely happens.if you look at the pics that is not necrosis as anyone will tell you.it is just bruising.and a nipple will not fall off.it has no reflection on the surgery technique or the skill of the surgeon having a dark nipple.
