That's your lot for today folks!

Probably won't take any more photos until the 4-week post now, as daily changes aren't really very noticeable, whereas comparing 2 to 3 weeks, you can really see the progress. I.E. it wasn't until I made the side-by-side images up that I noticed nipples have shrunk a bit more over the past week, which is good  ;D

Any questions, just ask.  I'd better get on with some work now instead of admiring myself!  ::)

Am i correct to say that areola size went down between weeks 2 and 3 in both areolas? Why do you think that is?

Hi moesawad,

Yes, noticeable size reduction over past week. I didn't notice it day-to-day, it was only when editing the 4 pictures together that I realised.

I guess it is all part of the process as the skin retracts etc. - in my case it has been stretched for over 25 years! There is a little bit of swelling there too, not much, but probably enough to make a difference. So once that settles down, could get a little more retraction.

Interesting thing I've noticed is that if it is cold enough to get goose-bumps, like just after shower when soaking wet, the area of chest limited to where the gland was stays very smooth - I.E. no goose-bumps... guess that is something to do with the nerves not being reconnected yet?, as it is a nervous reaction to the cold as far as I know. So maybe my nips will shrink down a bit more yet as healing continues? I'm quite happy with the size they are now, so even smaller would be a welcome bonus!

Good. I ask because i had surgery(gland excision and lipo) 6 days ago and my areolas went down about 20% in size.  That seems substantial, but they were very large prior and i was hoping for more. Overall im happy with the results but any noticeable shrinkage during the next 3 months would be a bonus.

Congrats on getting surgery! - as everyone says, the healing process is 6 months - 1 year, rather than the few weeks it takes for the physical cuts to heal and get past the compression vest stage, so I'm sure lots will change for the better in the coming months.

You should start a thread and post regular pics - it's good to look back on and see how things are changing all the time.

Thanks Jamie - very pleased so far!

Thought I owed it to the forum to post lots of progress pics, plus it really helps me to see how it is going week by week

Looking good donut.

I will be having surgery with Karidis in 2 weeks time. Are you currently experiencing any pain at all?

Congrats!

No, had no pain at all, didn't take any painkillers, didn't even want the ones in hospital!

Just just the odd twinge now and again, but not what I'd call pain.

Most discomfort was from the best! - much more comfortable to wear a tight t-shirt underneath it (if too baggy it will bunch up under compression vest and be uncomfortable)

Hi Qaz, not really known what causes seromas, but are relatively common - one of the US surgeons says occur in about 25% of cases. No big deal though, Mr Levick soon sorted it!

You should definitely make a thread of your own experiences - firstly it's great to look back on yourself and photographs and realise how far you've come, especially on days when the lumps and bumps stage is getting to you! - and secondly think of it as "payback" to this forum and all those who have taken the time to write up stuff that has informed and inspired you, and the fact that you will help the next bunch of guys who come along to make an informed choice of surgeon too.

...besides, everyone must be sick of reading my thread by now, time we had some new guys to follow!  ::)

lol - thanks.  I'll keep updating it regularly with photos until the healing is finished, which they say is about a year.

GAAH

This bloody file-size limit is absolutely ridiculous. Wish the forum owner sould do something about it! - getting fed up of constantly losing my entire post when you go "back" coz of the stupid error message whinging that your photos are over the paltry 192k limit! - this is the 21st Century guys!!! there is a thing called BROADBAND!

*rant over*

Right then here we go again...

4 Weeks Post-op:

Doesn't look that much different from 3 weeks really. Every morning though have had nipple creases in different places, especially on the right-hand side. Sometimes at the top, sometimes at the bottom. Seems to be a little bit of swelling of the "non-nipple" bit of chest that causes the creasing. All part of the "roller-coaster" no doubt. Annoying though!

Lumps and bumps still everywhere, but ease a little bit with a lot of massage. Lymph glands are down a bit more from the 3-week mark, but can still feel them.

Tonight I am going to leave the vest off overnight, and see how things look in the morning. Advice from Mr Levick was compression 24/7 for a month, then half-days for another month or more ideally. I think the advice from Dr. Karidis for his patients is 24/7 for 2 weeks followed by half-days for another 2 weeks?  Some guys say things start to improve more quickly once the vest comes off, and with others it has resulted in a sudden big load of swelling, so I will keep a close eye on things.  My work is a little bit physical (which I've avoided for past month) - so for me I think it is going to be better to wear in the day for the extra support, and off during night.

Not much difference to notice in the photos, except lookin a bit more creased perhaps since week 3. Also a weeks worth of chest hair stubble lol  ::)  Not sure it is worth making up the comparison images this time, might wait until next week or week after when there is (hopefully) a more visual difference. I might also take more photos in 2-3 days time to mark the 1 month point, and then take a new set each month to eventually make up a month-by-month comparison, which will probably be more useful.

Anyway - here we go!

Hi Qaz

My op was in the afternoon, and was out of hospital before lunch next day, after Mr Levick had been to see me and the nurses come round to give me meds and sign me out as it were... All very unhurried!
